Definitions:
- Supertextual elements include everything not involved with page content, including type and color of paper, binding, and navigational aids.
- Extratextual elements are visual elements, such as borders, lines, graphics, photographs, and the colors used in any of those elements.
- Intertextual elements are used to provide cohesion across an entire document and include fonts and margins.
- Intratextual elements help provide cohesion across a page and within a paragraph. These include formatting (i.e. indents), writing style, fonts, use of bullets, etc.
